序數詞變化規律：
1、序數詞1-19除第一， 第二， 第三， 第五， 第八， 第九， 第十二變化不規則外， 其餘均由在基數詞後加上 -th。
2、幾十幾的序數詞，只是把個位數變成序數詞， 十位數不變。
序數詞有縮寫形式，也要記住： first（第一）縮寫為1st, second (第二)縮寫為2nd， third（第三）縮寫為 3rd，其他數序詞是以-th結尾的，如： fourth（第四） 縮寫為4th。
第二十至第九十九的序數詞：
20 – 90整十位數序數詞 – 將對應的基數詞詞尾中的y變為i，然後加eth構成。
21–99非整十位數位序數詞 – 十位數仍有基數詞，個位數則用相應的序數詞。十位數和個位數之間用連字元「-」連線。
百位以上的序數詞：
將基數詞的結尾部分變為序數詞即可。
第一百one hundredth；100th
第二百零四two hundred and fourth；204th
在英語中，使用序數詞時前面要加定冠詞 the，但是，在下面的情況下則不加 the：
1．當序數詞前有形容詞性物主代詞或名詞所有格修飾時，序數詞前不用 the。
mother was my first teacher in my life.媽媽是我生命中的第乙個老師。
tom is lily's third boyfriend. 湯姆是莉莉的第三個男朋友。
2．當表達分數時，序數詞前不用 the。
one fifth of the students here are from the country. 這兒1/5的學生來自農村。
three fourths of the students here are from the country. 這兒的3/4的學生來自農村。

1－100的序數詞分為四個類。
1、第一類。
first (1st) 第一。
second (2nd) 第二。
third (3rd) 第三。
在括號裡的是縮寫形式，均在阿拉伯數字後面加上相應序數詞的最後兩個字母構成，以下各類與此相同。）這類序數詞只有三個，在整個序數詞裡面是特殊的，就和第一類基數詞一樣，需要逐個地硬記下來。
2、第二類：
fourth (4th) 第四。
fifth (5th) 第五。
sixth (6th) 第六。
seventh (7th) 第七。
eighth (8th) 第八。
ninth (9th) 第九。
tenth (10th) 第十。
eleventh (11th) 第十一。
twelfth (12th) 第十二。
thirteenth (13th) 第十三。

fifteenth (15th) 第十五。
sixteenth (16th) 第十六。
seventeenth (17th) 第十七。

這一類序數詞共有十六個。均在相應的基數詞後面加上字尾－th構成。要注意其中fifth、eighth、ninth、twelth四個詞的拼法。
3、第三類：
twentieth (20th) 第二十。
thirtieth (30th) 第三十。
fortieth (40th) 第四十。
fiftieth (50th) 第五十。
sixtieth (60th) 第六十。
seventieth (70th) 第七十。
eightieth (80th) 第八十。
ninetieth (90th) 第九十。
這一類全是十位整數的序數詞，共八個。它們的構成方法是：先將相應的十位整數的基數詞詞尾－ty中的y改成i，然後在加上字尾－eth。
4、第四類：
thirty-first (31th) 第三十一。
sixty-second (62nd) 第六十二。
eighty-seventh (87th) 第八十七。
ninety-eighth (98th) 第九十八。
這類表示「第幾十幾」的序數詞，跟表示「幾十幾」的基數詞一樣簡單。在構成方法上均由基數詞「幾十幾」變化而來，十位數不變，僅把個位上的基數詞變成序數詞就行了。
