獅子與報恩的老鼠
when a lion['laiən] was asleep獅子睡著了, a little mouse began running up and down beside him. this soon wakened['weikən] the lion. he was very angry, and caught[kɔ:
t] the mouse in his paws.有隻老鼠在他的周圍爬上爬下，很快吵醒了獅子，獅子很生氣，一把抓住了老鼠
"f***ive me, please." cried the little mouse. 「饒了我吧，」老鼠請求說"i may be able to help you someday.
" 「也許有一天我能幫上你的忙呢。」 the lion was tickled at these words.he thought, "how could this little mouse help me?
" 獅子覺得很好笑，他想：「這隻小老鼠怎麼能幫上我的忙？」however he lifted up his paws and let him go.
但他還是抬起爪子放他走了。
a few days later, the lion was caught[kɔ:t] in a trap[træp]. 不久，獅子被陷阱困住了。
the hunters['hʌntə] wanted to take him alive to the king獵人們想將活獅子獻給國王, so they tied him to a tree, and went away to look for a wagon['wæɡən].就把他捆在一棵大樹上，然後去找馬車。
just then the little mouse passed by這時，老鼠路過這裡, and saw the sad lion看到了絕望中的獅子.he went up to him, and soon gnawed[na:d] away the ropes.
他走過去，很快啃斷了繩索，說："was i not right?" asked the little mouse.
「我雖小，可是我也能幫上你的忙。」
